@mjmojo,

Blogging is such a powerful tool for creating quality content and increasing link popularity, any business not using a blog is at an automatic disadvantage to the competitors.

As for the opinion on the Blog URL's, I personally prefer to have my blog as a sub directory, this way I can hav a static home page optimised for my target keywords. You can optimise a site either way this is just my preference.

Interesting that blogging and social media are listed alongside inbound link building as essential SEO practices. It seems blogging is becoming a "best practice", even for SEO - maybe the social media evangelists are right?

I've heard differing opinions on how to best optimize a blog URL. Do you have an opinion on whether www.mysite.com/blog or www.mysitesblog.com (differing from mainpage domain) is better?

Hi Eddie,

Google PageRank is not important as it used to be, but where your site is ranked for a keyword is the number 1 factor determining how much search traffic you receive. The higher you rank for your targeted keyword the more traffic you get, drops in this traffic can be a direct effect of your competition over taking you due to more effective optimisation.

Hi there,

I don't really give Google Rank much importance. Do you think it matters so much. If so what effect does it have on a website and in what way? Please share your views if any.

Cheers,
Eddie Gear
