@steve,

wow I have my blog quality controller, thanks for the shout though :)

I think you have define what quality is first of all, many associate quality with PageRank, for me PageRank is the least of my link building worries. The two things I focus on are domain trust and relevancy, the more relevant your links are the better results you will see, in my experience.

hi Tim,
In your diagrams above, you used the word webage instead of webpage. :)
Anyway, GREAT post! I agree that a quality (relevant) link will have more weight than a non-relevant link, but the question I have is how much? 20 quality links would probably outweight 100 low quality links, but would they outweigh 200 low quality links? From what I have seen, probably not... That said, I say go for relevant links and you won't regret it. steve booth

Hi Kai,

I think it is hard to be punished for inbound links as that would mean anyone could easily sabotage your campaign. However if a link isn't relevant in my opinion it passes little if any ranking value.

This is a great post Tim. I've used a perfect example before that Google gets angry when your site is about horse training and a Viagra site links to you. Maybe horse trainers love to use Viagra. Anyways, it's always about quality over quantity.
