If you simply copied the code given by Tim into your template, you would indeed get an error message. Besides removing the *, you need to correct the typo for the quotes - although they  look identical, they are not. So, make sure you replaced ” with &quot; AND ‘ with &#039;

The block should look exactly like this:

&lt;b&gt;
      your blog title
    &lt;b /&gt;
    
    
    &lt;/b&gt;
